Summary

New final rules from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights, and Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services were released late spring. There are several points and pieces you may have missed that are integral to your operations. Please join this free, member-only webinar for everything you need to ensure you meet regulations by the deadlines imposed and have some recommended suggestions/solutions.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights, and Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services recently issued a final rule advancing protections against discrimination in health care to restore protections against discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, and disability. This rule applies to any health program or activity receiving federal funds from HHS, and applies to nursing homes, ID/DD, Medicare advantage plans, and could arguably apply to assisted living facilities receiving federal financial assistance (Medicaid waiver programs, etc.) Ryan Usher and Jane Danner will discuss the new requirements, compliance deadlines, and recommended approaches.

Target audience
  • “Any health program or activity receiving federal funds from HHS, this means nursing homes, ID/DD providers and Medicare Advantage plans are subject to this Final Rule. Assisted living facilities could be subject to the rule if they receive Federal financial assistance (e.g., through a Medicaid waiver program)”
  • SNF/NF (federally funded), AL (if waivers are accepted), ID/DD
  • Those individuals who should attend are anyone who is responsible for:
